Christian Sebaldt, ASC Biography

Director of Photography Christian Sebaldt is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Visual Effects Society and others.

Born and raised in Munich, Germany, his first serious exposure to the film industry was as a trainee at the Bavaria Studios and Lab in Munich. He spent time in every department, including the visual effects unit, gaining experience that later served him well on many effects-heavy projects.

He has compiled more than thirty five feature film credits (including two wide theatrical releases), and has also photographed over 155 television episodes (over 90 for Jerry Bruckheimer TV, over 22 for Shondaland), many music videos, network promos, commercials, TV movies and documentaries.

In 2010 he received a Primetime EMMY Award and an ASC nomination for his work on ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’. Past awards include a Silver Clio, Art Director’s Club Gold, a Kodak Vision Award for Outstanding Achievements in Cinematography and others.

Christian’s work as a Director of Photography has taken him to many European countries, as well as Asia, Africa, Canada, Mexico and all over the United States.
