Written by Marlana Hope (Grey’s Anatomy), the film follows Mallory (Schafer), a sharp and ambitious New York reporter assigned to write a story on the Best Small Town in America, sending her to Meramec, Alabama. Mallory is staying at Little Birdie B&B, run by Robin (Flannery), a much-loved, long-term resident of Meramec, and her charming son Wren (Kesy), a former Marine who is partial to his small-town home but finds Mallory’s big-city confidence alluring. Beneath her driven exterior, Mallory’s warm side is revealed as she bonds with the community of Meramec, especially Wren. Zeke (Barr), Mallory’s best friend and Hollywood heartthrob, is impulsive, fun, and the life of the party, balancing his stardom with a down-to-earth loyalty to Mallory that challenges her to rethink what she really wants.
Jim Klock (The Trials of Cate McCall, Always Woodstock) produced for Ana Vera, alongside Autumn Federici and Jake Helgren for The Ninth House.
Perhaps best known for her lead role in the indie Elizabeth Blue, Schafer has also been seen in the film Brighton Beach starring pop star FKA Twigs and Flutter alongside Luke Evans, Billy Zane and Joe Anderson.
Kesy played the title role in Hellboy: The Crooked Man, the third film in the franchise for Millennium. He recently wrapped production on The Pickup for Amazon alongside Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer. TV credits include Claws and The Strain.
Best known for her role as Meredith on NBC’s The Office, Flannery was a fan favorite on Season 28 of Dancing with the Stars and won audiences over this past winter as Starfish on Season 11 of The Masked Singer. Most recently, she co-starred alongside Rita Moreno in the darkly comedic thriller The Prank, also taking on the films Plan B and Bolt from the Blue.
Barr recently starred in Walker: Independence for The CW and toplined the CBS series Blood & Treasure. Previously, he starred in The CW’s Valor and William H. Macy’s indie The Layover opposite Alexandra Daddario and Kate Upton.
Schafer is repped by attorney Reed Smith; Kesy by Paradigm and Range Media Partners; Flannery by Innovative Artists and Seven Summits Pictures & Management; Barr by UTA, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and attorney Allison Binder; and Hope by Gersh.
