The premiere is here for Season Two of the Chicago-made series Power Book IV: Force and we are honored to have a special guest from the show stopping by to play Five Questions with SCREEN. Through his dedication, talent, and extensive body of work, Jacques Gravett, ACE, has left an indelible mark on the world of film and television editing. You will see Jacques in action on Friday, September 1st, as he edited the premiere episode of Force Season Two. But first, Jacques is here to play Five Questions with SCREEN. Let’s get to it!
SCREEN: Jacques, thank you so much for stopping by! What will audiences enjoy most in this all-new second season of POWER BOOK IV: FORCE?
JACQUES: Watching this series go to a whole new level. And of course Tommy being Tommy.
SCREEN: What was your most memorable or enjoyable moment of working on this season?
JACQUES: Really the whole season was fantastic! We have tremendous producers on our post production team who allow me to work creatively. I also worked with some excellent directors this season on the episodes I cut. The writers and other executive producers involved with the show are all fun to work with, too. Working in the cutting room with showrunner Gary Lennon, who I worked with several years ago on The Shield, is certainly the most memorable moment for me. The most enjoyable moments are being on the mix stage with our other creatives and watching my work come together on the big screen.
SCREEN: Ok on to some fun “non-Force” questions… Jacques, If you could be a member of any musical group in history, what would it be?
JACQUES: RUN-DMC because they were true innovators of rap and hip hop music (a new genre at the time) and they’ve been around for 50 years.
SCREEN: Worst job ever?
JACQUES: I was a telemarketer one summer during college at San Diego State University. Hated it.
SCREEN: What is your favorite restaurant on the planet? What do we order when we go?
JACQUES: The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea in Maui. I would recommend the Mahi Mahi, S. R. F. Wagyu Ribeye, and the Spiny Lobster.
BONUS QUESTIONS!
SCREEN: If you could only be a fan of one sports team, what would it be?
JACQUES: The Los Angeles Lakers, without a doubt.
Jacques and our readers will enjoy some LeBron highlights from his Lakers run in this mashup…
