Season five of Silicon Valley aired during what turned out to be an extremely weird time last year, considering Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg testified before the Senate just two weeks after the show’s premiere and execs from both Facebook and Twitter testified a few months after the show’s season finale aired on television. “When we started this show it was about, can these people succeed in a top business and can they make money and can they make their dreams come true?” Silicon Valley executive producer Alex Berg told Vulture last year. “Now, as we get deeper and deeper into all the dark, nefarious shit that the Googles and Facebooks of the world are actually doing, trading on people’s information and possibly changing the course of American political history and thus global political history, you could make an argument that — without disappearing up my own ass — these guys are fighting to save the world in a way now.”

Back in August, HBO released a teaser for the upcoming sixth and final season that summed this up perfectly with one quote from Thomas Middleditch’s character testifying before the Senate: “I promise I will end this tyranny by creating an internet of the people, by the people, and for the people, so help me God.” The network released the full trailer for the season this week, which features a little less of Middleditch in the political hot seat and much more puking, dead birds, a Fyre Festival–like subplot, “punching Big Tech in the dick,” and newcomer Arturo Castro. Check out the trailer above, then catch the rest when Silicon Valley returns for one final round on Sunday, October 27, at 10 p.m.
